About Smithton, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Smithton is one of many lovely little communities in this part of Illinois. It has a very hometown feel that everyone who enters the city can sense. The small town somewhat country impression that you may get when you enter town is one of its best selling points and the reason that people move in and never leave. This area is an ideal place to settle for people involved in agri-business, horticultural hobbies, animals, photography or wildlife. However, it is near enough to St. Louis that the folks in town don’t feel secluded or like they are out in the middle of nowhere. Locals enjoy all-American small town family fun but can still get to a hospital or shopping mall without a long drive. An example of that local family fun is the Monroe County fair, which is held at the Waterloo Fairgrounds each year and is a local celebration that should not be missed. Carnival rides, food and refreshment, the Fair Queen Pageant, the Little Miss contest and a demolition derby are just a few of the amazing things that they have going on every year.
If you want your kids to have a small town, slow paced and safe upbringing then this area provides that with an extra helping of fun and friends. It is just a great place to live. When fall rolls in and the weather cools, it is time to rejoice in the harvest. That means pumpkins, gourds and all things autumn. The nearby town of Chester has a Pumpkin Festival, held the second Sunday in October, every single year. The celebrations include a 5K Run/Walk, music and… Pumpkins! Pumpkins! Pumpkins! It is a great family event. Not to be missed!
The Waterloo Park District is a self-governing association that has been helping the public of Waterloo and the adjacent area for many years by providing more than 150 acres of green spaces and leisure areas, including an 18-hole Disc Golf course. These amazing parks are best enjoyed in the beautiful spring and summer weather, but if you prefer a cool walk or hike, then fall might be best time for you to check out what they have to offer.
